Mellon Career Development Fellowships

Two Mellon Career Development Fellowships involving Philosophy

We are delighted to announce that we will shortly be advertising two Mellon Career Development Fellowships involving Philosophy. One fellowship is in the area of Semantics and will be offered jointly with the Oxford Faculty of Linguistics, Philology, and Phonetics. The other is in the area of Philosophy of Cognitive Science: Thinking, Perceiving and Representing.

Both fellowships will involve elements of teaching and research and will be tenable for two years from 1 October 2009.

Mellon Career Development Fellowships are designed to provide an intensive and supported career development opportunity for outstanding academics at an early stage in their career, and to promote equality of opportunity by helping to create a more diverse pool of potential candidates for future academic posts at Oxford or elsewhere.  Eligible candidates for these scholarships must be at an early stage of an academic career, and have completed their doctorate within the last four years.

Further details will appear on this website shortly.
