Timothy Williamson elected to the Academia Europaea

We are delighted to report that Timothy Williamson, Wykeham Professor of Logic and Fellow of New College, Oxford, has been elected as a member of the Academia Europaea.

The Academia Europaea is a European non-governmental organisation which aims to promote a wider appreciation of the value of European scholarship and to encourage interdisciplinary and international research in all areas of learning. Invitations for membership are made only after peer group nomination, scrutiny and confirmation as to the scholarship and eminence of the individual in their chosen field. Election is confirmed by the Council of the Academia. Members are drawn from across the whole European continent, not only western Europe. Current membership includes fifty-two Nobel Laureates.
