Roger Crisp awarded the British Academy Thank-offering to Britain Fellowship

Roger Crisp has been awarded the British Academy Thank-offering to Britain Fellowship for 2015-16.

The Thank-Offering to Britain Fellowship, currently awarded every second year, is generously supported by the proceeds of the Thank-You Britain Fund following an appeal in the 1960s made by the Association of Jewish Refugees to say thank you to the people of the United Kingdom for their support for refugees fleeing Nazi persecution. It enables an established scholar to have time away from their normal teaching and administrative responsibilities for one year to concentrate on a major piece of research that is related to ‘human studies, widely interpreted’.

Roger Crisp

Roger’s project is entitled Taming the Beast: Responses to Hobbesian Egoism in the British Moral Philosophical Tradition. He will be taking sabbatical leave for academic year 2016-17 and hopes to have completed a draft of a book by the end of that period.
